WONKA HAS ARRIVED! Jan 2024

WONKA has arrived!
Marzano Films provided the entire Aerial Unit provision on the new spectacular feature dir. by Paul King!
Throughout 2021/22 we had Aerial Units travelling up and down the country once again - working their socks off in tricky locations and providing the production unit with the unique perspective that comes from flying through the air. No matter whether it was low over the sea at Lyme Regis in a helicopter to floating over the pituresque shores of Pembrokeshire with a Drone and gimbal, the Marzano Films Aerial Cinematographers nailed it once again and we couldnt be more proud of the hard work and effort of the crew.
The Bespoke 3 camera drone array was designed and manufactured in house by John Marzano and the Alta X drone was chosen to carry the camera equipment up and into the sky, for Willy Wonkas latest adventures!
The Camera Helicopter unit travelled down to Lyme Regis to work alongside DOP John Sorapure picking up background plates of the Cobb and the sea for Willy Wonkas quirky hero boat sequence. Working alongside the Marine Unit, Benedict Bannister was our Ground to Air Coordinator, managing the comms and maneouvres between camera aircraft and boat. Miles Fletcher our Camera Helicopter Pilot skillfully flew the helicopter low over the water - see below: you can just about see the helicopter hovering, to get Willy's perspective looking out to sea! (Reminder must get a better personal camera!)
John Marzano and Mike Foyle travelled to town with an Inspire 2 and worked with the Grip crew to configure the perspective of the Giraffe running down the aisle of St Pauls Cathedral chasing Rowan Atkinson! Great job team!
Skrinkle Haven Beach was tough on one of the Drone Units, as we had to hand carry all of the kit from the top of the cliff, down precarious stairs to a boat that transported them to an idyllic hidden beach - no easy feat with cinematic aircraft, Pilots monitors, Aerial DOP monitors, but they got there in the end and the shoot went off without a hitch. John Marzano and his team shot some stunning aerial images, viewing a piece of secret English seaside that does not often get to be seen!
